Due to heavy flooding after torrential rain, Chennai (MAA) airport remains closed until further notice. As such, all Emirates flights to/from Chennai (MAA) have been cancelled up to and including December 4th. All flights to Chennai remain closed until December 6th. Passengers with final destination Chennai (MAA) will not be boarded on their flight from the origin in order to avoid congestion in Dubai.
Please find below the re-booking/cancellation procedures which are applicable for passengers who purchased their tickets on/before December 1st for travel to/from Chennai (MAA) and who wish to alter their travel plans.
Rebooking, re-issue and cancellation charges shall be waived for passengers ticketed to travel up to December 07th, 2015.
Rebooking shall be made onto an available flight to/from the same destination for travel within a 07 day period after the original date of travel in the same booking class. This will be at no additional cost to the passenger and if required, the validity of the ticket may be extended.
Rebooking shall also be permitted to/from HYD/BLR/TRV/COK/DEL/BOM (instead of MAA) within a 07 day period after the original flight date in the same booking class (RBD) and at no additional cost to the passenger provided the max stay requirement of the fare used is maintained. If required the validity of the ticket may be extended. Travel from HYD/BLR/TRV/COK/DEL/BOM to MAA or MAA to HYD/BLR/TRV/COK/DEL/BOM will be at passengers own expense.
Only one free of charge change is permitted.
Passengers who want to cancel their trip:
Fully unused tickets – A full refund may be offered.
Partially used tickets – Refund of the residual amount after deduction of the applicable one-way fare for the utilized portion. Alternatively the residual amount may be converted into an eMD for future travel on Emirates valid for one year from DOI.
We will keep you posted on any further development.
