JetBlue and Hawaiian Airlines Expand Partnership

Details JetBlue Airways Corp. and Hawaiian Airlines have expanded their partnership.

Both Airlines have formed a partnership that will allow members of both carriers to book connections on a single ticket that combines flights and also more importantly,  the deal also allows the carriers' customers to earn or redeem loyalty points or miles  for travel on either airline.

Travellers will also find more convenient connections between points throughout the East Coast and points throughout Hawaii with the signing of a new codeshare agreement. Agreements will be in effect on June 5th, when Hawaiian launches plans to add nonstop service  between New York City and Hawaii. Customers on both airlines will be able to connect with those flights through JetBlue's base at New York's JFK.

Hawaiian’s executive vice president and chief commercial officer,  Peter Ingram said, “Starting next month, Hawaiian will bring Hawaii to New York, and this expansion of our partnership with JetBlue will make travel between the East Coast and Hawaii easier than ever".

Partnerships like this allow airlines to expand their service without spending more money to add flights on their own. Hawaiian Airlines already has similar partnerships, called codeshares, with major U.S. airlines including United-Continental, Delta and American. JetBlue has deals with a number of international carriers, including Ireland’s Aer Lingus, Virgin Atlantic Airways and Emirates.
